Sonu Nigam Recalls How Anu Malik BULLIED Him When He Was New In The Music Industry; Singer Says, ‘He Was Very Intimidating At That Time’
Sonu Nigam opened up about the time when Anu Malik used to bully him, when he was new in the music industry
Singer and composer Sonu Nigam is one of the most sought after names in the music industry. He left the audience mesmerised with his soulful voice ever since he made his debut as a singer with Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Refugee. He has now opened up about his journey and recalled how composer Anu Malik used to bully him when he was new in the industry. He even confessed to being scared of the musician, who later became his mentor.
Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Nigam opened up about how Malik used to bully him because he was older and had a lot of experience in the industry. He went on to recall that he was 14-years-old when he met the composer at a music competition he had worn. That time, he had told the singer to come to him when he grows up. Quoted by Hindustan Times, he said, “He was very intimidating at that time. But slowly, I understood how to deal with him. Jitna daboge, utna dabaenge.” The 50-year-old singer went on to add that he had learnt a lot from Anu and that teh latter is his guruji. For the unversed, both the musicians have collaborated on many songs throughout the years. Their hit songs are till date loved and cherished by the audiences. They have also judged the popular singing reality television show Indian Idol with Farah Khan and appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show together.
